5-inch vs. 6-inch K-style gutters

5-Inch Gutters

A common residential option for smaller or moderately sized roof areas with properly planned downspout placement.

6-Inch Gutters

Provide greater water-carrying capacity and are often recommended for larger roofs, steep pitches, long gutter runs and concentrated runoff.

The correct size depends on roof area, pitch, valleys, drainage layout and downspout capacity—not appearance alone.

2×3 vs. 3×4 downspouts

Do gutter guards eliminate maintenance?

Gutter guards can reduce leaf and debris accumulation, but no system is completely maintenance-free. The right product depends on roof type, tree coverage, debris size, pitch and access. Periodic inspection remains important.
